Fish and Hunt Maryland is a strategic branding campaign developed by Visit Maryland to promote the state’s hunting and fishing opportunities. Since being hired in 2014, Symmetry has managed this initiative, providing comprehensive support that includes branding, website development, stakeholder management, multimedia production, communications, and event activation.
The campaign was designed to unite three agencies—the Maryland Department of Commerce (Visit Maryland), the Department of Natural Resources, and the Department of Agriculture—creating a consumer marketing initiative that aligned with the objectives of tourism promotion, wildlife management, and seafood marketing. As the project lead and execution partner, Symmetry has effectively invited non-resident hunters and anglers to experience Maryland, ultimately contributing to the state’s economic support and growth.
As the agency of record for Fish and Hunt Maryland, Symmetry has created and executed seasonal promotional campaigns that support wildlife seasons and private sector partners. We have also developed event activation and representation for the brand at key events, including the Great American Outdoor Show, the Annapolis Boat Shows, the Maryland Fly Fishing Festival, the Virginia Fly Fishing and Wine Festival, and Oyster Blues and Brews. These events provided valuable opportunities for attendees to learn more about Maryland’s hunting and fishing offerings while interacting with state representatives and private sector partners, driving increased business and economic impact for the state.
